Information.

North Walsham Chamber of Trade was setup following meeting of the traders group and council. Here some of the issues that the traders group and chamber are currently working on or achieved.

Free parking was arranged by NWTC for Christmas 2009

Enhancing North Walsham, in conjunction with the Town Council

1. We are monitoring cleansing done by NNDC contractors and reporting to them

2. We have set up and run 3 successful clean up days with local volunteers

3. We are working on forcing Landowners to take care of derelict sites.

Pigeons - Chamber looked into several methods. The Town Council arranged a Hawk demonstration and samples of pigeon proofing. After looking at these basic simple proofing was proven to be most effective and has already reduce the numbers in town

Car Parks - Chamber is investigating claims that all council car parks in North Walsham are planned to be closed, and discussing these plans with the councils to come to a better town plan. There has also been a freedom of information request submitted to NNDC for costs and profit plan for all car parks in the town and surrounding towns.

Improving North Walsham, the chamber works closely with several bodies such as Town Council, North Walsham in Bloom, Christmas Lights group, Town Management Group, Griffon Area partnership as well as others to keep and improve current appeal of North Walsham for shoppers and residents.

The Chamber in partnership with the Griffon Area Partnership and the Town Council are looking at setting up a local and visitor information point in the town

Promotion of North Walsham in local papers - North Norfolk News will be promoting the town though a chamber page with discount advertising rates to members (achieved)

If you have any concerns as a member please send these to contact@nw-chamberoftrade.org.uk or drop in to a chamber officer listed on contact page.
